Empowering Children for Tomorrow
IRIMBILIYAM, September 5, 2026: As part of its Ideal Parent – Parents Academy, Ideal International School, Irimbiliyam, conducted its fourth session on “Parenting Reimagined – Empowering Children for Tomorrow.” The session offered parents meaningful insights into modern parenting and the changing needs of children.
The session was led by Mr Sayed Haris, R.P., Oxford University Press, an educationist, English language trainer and soft-skills resource person. Through thought-provoking interactions and practical examples, he explored how parents can nurture children to become confident, capable, emotionally balanced and responsible individuals.
A key focus of the session was the importance of life skills in a child’s development. Decision-making, critical thinking, communication, empathy, problem-solving, self-awareness and coping with stress were highlighted as essential skills that children need to develop alongside academic learning.
The session also explored the physical, emotional, social, sexual and cognitive dimensions of child development, reminding parents that a child’s growth is multidimensional and requires understanding, patience and meaningful engagement.

Mr Sayed Haris also emphasised that life skills are learned through observation, experience and practice, encouraging parents to communicate clearly, give children opportunities to think and make decisions, and spend quality time with them.
